Changing a tire is a perfect example. I’m not really that much of a fan of wrenching on cars. I can handle the basics, belts, hoses, filters, oil, and of course changing a tire.
But I don’t want to do it.
Especially on the side of a busy road. That is the down right scary part. It is why I have a AAA Membership. The membership is a great idea, but it doesn’t mean that someday I’m not going to have to change that tire on the side of a busy road because help isn’t available.
There are some folks out there that aren’t particularly interested in guns. That doesn’t make them of questionable character any more than me not wanting to wrench on a 1969 Mustang Shelby 429. Yes, it exists. Look it up.
So it is the same with guns. Just because you aren’t a gun enthusiast doesn’t mean you should pretend guns don’t exist. There are folks that have guns in their lives because loved ones like you have guns for sporting, hunting and defensive use. Really everyone has guns in their lives whether they own them or not. Homes that you and your children visit have guns. People that you interact with everyday in public are carrying guns.
It isn’t a reason for alarm, but instead a reason to become educated.
Those that don’t love guns don’t have to become gun enthusiasts. In my opinion there are a few things that non-shooters should know about guns. They don’t even have to learn how to shoot (although they might find it fun if they did.)
There are, however, a few things that any responsible adult that could come into contact with guns should know.
