This week the heat is going to be on in the US. We can expect crazy hot oppressive weather and whether we like it or not it can have a pretty drastic effect from discomfort to death. If we understand how heat can effect us and we take some time to prepare for it, hot weather becomes little more than an inconvenience. Whenever we spend time with family at someplace other than home it takes some extra effort to stay on top of what is going on. The comfortable feeling of being with family can make it pretty easy to slip into a sense of false security. Today we will look at a few ideas to keep in mind when hanging out with family.

Summer is just around the corner and Memorial Day weekend is a typical starting point for summer fun. Pools are opened up, boats are in the water, and people flock to the beaches to have fun in the water and ingest e coli by the pound. Today we talk about some things we can do to make sure we keep ourselves and more importantly our kids safe by the poolside.
0142 – Gearing Up For Summer Carry
Back in October or November which seems like forever ago I discussed preparing for winter carry and the issues that tend to present themselves when we add additional layers of clothing. Today we head in the opposite direction. As I mentioned yesterday I jumped on an airplane to head to Florida to visit family over the weekend. The warm weather was an excellent reminder of the issues that pop up when we molt from our winter wear into short shorts and tube tops.
