SSA In Personal Defense World 2016 Concealed Carry Annual
Safety Solutions Academy – Personal Defense World Article on Concealed Carry
As a professional defensive shooting instructor I have the opportunity to talk with many students about the challenges that they face when it comes to concealed carry. Some of those challenges are easy to address. Others are much more difficult.
Recently, Harris Publications contacted me. They asked me to submit some ideas for articles that would appear in various Harris magazines. I was happy to oblige. Of course, I submitted a list of queries. and wasn’t long before an editor reached out to me and asked me to follow through on one specific idea. I was pleased with his choice.
My Article Online
Today my article, “5 Tips To Maximize Your Concealed Carry Skills & Mindset” went live on the Personal Defense World website as part of the 2016 Concealed Carry Annual. You can read the article here.
The article is a short one. At the same time, it gives some good ideas to consider to be sure you are ready to carry your concealed handgun.
I tried to address these important ideas:
- Paying attention to firearm safety.
- Making sure that you have quality gear that works as a unit.
- Making quality trading a priority.
- Having a plan to deal with the aftermath.
- Focusing on the idea of avoidance.
Of course I have written on the topic of concealed carry on my site extensively and on some other sites as well. I must say though, I am happy when my material is published by one of the big boys.
What could make this short article better?
In the next couple of weeks I plan on taking a fresh look at each of these areas with in depth, unique content on the Safety Solutions Academy blog. Before I do that, take a look at the article and think about your experience with concealed carry and the challenges that you faced. Were those challenges addressed in the article, or is there important information that you think needs to be added.
I know that there is a ton of information that can be added as concealed carry is a broad topic that also needs to be addressed with adequate depth. Tell me what important ideas need to be added for the next time I take a look at these topics!
Thanks for taking the time to consider what I have to say!
