Rocky Creek Ranch Property Rights and More Trampled by Florida Judge

I am one of the lucky people that has spent time at Rock Creek Ranch.  I ran my hands over the large timbers that form the beautiful structures on the property.  I’ve heard the stories about the family relics in a display case highlighting a family background in law enforcement.  I have toured the property in a nostalgic military vehicle.  I sat with owner, Chris Baden and enjoyed a beverage.  I have seen the effort that Chris and his team have invested in what Rocky Creek Ranch is today and what it will be in the future.

Rocky Creek Ranch isn’t  a shooting range.  Instead, it is a destination. One thousand four hundred acres of luxury accommodations and camping and fields and woods and swamps and lakes and the stuff that dreams are made of.  Yes, there is a shooting range, but that is just a small part of what Rocky Creek Ranch really is.

This morning I watched a video that surprised and shocked me.  The property that is a dream to folks like you and me has turned into somewhat of a nightmare for Rocky Creek Ranch owner Chris Baden.

Although the shooting is a small portion of What Rocky Creek Ranch really is, Rocky Creek Ranch has faced many of the same hurdles that shooting ranges east of the Mississippi tend to encounter.  Neighbors who don’t like the guns and don’t like the noise.

Things recently took a turn for the worse when a local Florida judge ruled that Baden cannot discharge firearms, hunt or have visitors on the property other than immediate family members.  This ruling by the judge clearly seems to violate Baden’s Second Amendment rights as well as his rights as a property owner.  This type of treatment is reserved for felons, not entrepreneurs.  Imagine not being able to hunt on your own ranch where hunting is perfectly legal even with a bow.  Imagine not being able to invite friends for dinner.  Imagine not being able to defend yourself with a firearm because of a court order. It just doesn’t make sense.

Understand, that our fight that we have long called a fight for our Second Amendment Rights goes far beyond that.  As this situation shows all of our rights are under attack.
