2.4 Use Multiple Checks to Verify a Gun is Unloaded

You must first complete 2.3 Minimize Administrative Gun Handling before viewing this Lesson

We have discussed the idea that guns themselves aren’t really safe or dangerous, but instead it is the actions of those that use guns that create dangerous situations. Just like guns ammunition is inanimate and it can’t harm you. If we remove ammunition from the equation all together it becomes very difficult to cause serious injury with a gun.

this doesn’t mean that we are going to ignore gun safety rules when we unload a gun for administrative handling. Nope, we work to follow the rules of gun safety EVERY TIME we interact with guns. However, making certain that a gun is unloaded and that ammunition is removed from the area does reduce the risk of there being a serious accident.

In this lesson we are going to take a look at how we can unload both semi automatic handguns and revolvers and verify that those guns are unloaded with multiple checks.
