0155 – FF What Ever You Do, Don’t MYOB!

/
Yesterday we talked about awareness and how difficult it can be to stay out of it when you know (or think you know) what is going on around you. I made it pretty clear that for me, in most situations, I simply stay out of it. Your mileage may vary, based on your duties, your values, and a host of other factors. But there are some times when I just can't swallow that advice I gave yesterday.

0150 – FF Play Off Season Reminds Me of AGGRESSION

/
If I could only have one quality well developed and ready to dominate a violent encounter it would have to be aggression. Pure aggression displayed by a "victim" can be a game changer in the mind of those that are trying to hurt others.

0145 – FF A Discussion of Violence and AOJP

/
K sent this video in suggesting it as a possible FF Video. I thought that it was a great example of some do's and dont's when it comes to violent encounters so into the que it went.

0140 – FF What USPSA Is and Isn’t

/
For years I have heard the debate about what competitive shooting is and isn't. It is kind like sighted fire vs. target focused shooting, .45 vs. 9mm, 1911 vs. Glock and AR vs. AK. The point is that all of the debates are non issues as there are positives and negatives to BOTH sides of ALL of these arguments. It all comes down to context! Today lets talk about what USPSA is and isn't. Follow the link to the video watch and listen. Then head out to a local match with a realistic expectation of the outcome!

0135 – FF Proper Car Seat Installation

We can spend a lot of time watching video on Youtube to help us prepare for a violent encounter and as you know I think this is very important. Every once in a while, however, we need to step back and look at the other risks we face in life. The fact is that many of these risks are much more likely to affect us.

0130 – FF Bar Fight Turns to Murder

/
In today's Friday Film we take a look at a bar fight where two mutual combatants are involved in a confrontation. Although I do not believe this is a self-defense encounter, I do think there are lessons to be learned. Take a look and see what you think.

0125 – FF LA Contest and Hotel Robbery Shooting

/
Man, what a weekend! We got hit with a pretty decent storm Thursday night through Friday which creates a load of extra work for me and gets me behind in my game. Add to that the fact that I had family come in to town for a family birthday and Friday's Podcast just had to wait! Now that we have a show up, check out the great performance of a hotel clerk in this shootout. There are some things we will talk about that could have gone better as well!

0120 – FF Mindset, Tactics, and Improvised Impact Weapon Defeat Armed Robber

In war "Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back." Heraclitus (circa 500 BC)

Today I continue my rant about our responsibility to defend ourselves. Yesterday we talked about Wal-mart dismissing two employees for violating store loss prevention policy when they disarmed a shoplifter who shoved a gun into one of the employee's back. My dialog regarding that news story continued after my podcast. We shouldn't support those who don't support our right to self-defense. Policies like Wal-marts policy not only get people killed, but they do something that might be worse. They create drones
